Breaking The Chain The Humane Society of Broward County is trying to end the suffering of dogs forced to live on chains in our community. Dogs are social animals and need to live close to their families. The isolation is terribly stressful and causes many behavioral problems such as aggression. Furthermore, dogs forced to live outside are typically malnourished, full of parasites, and filthy. Please help us in the campaign to introduce legislation to outlaw this blatant cruelty. Here are some links to help you help the dogs in Broward County.
Visit the Broward County Humane Society website for more information on
the Break the Chain Campaign. City of Fort Lauderdale Update! Hooray! On March 21, 2006, the city voted unanimously to pass a law restricting the chaining of animals. A final vote on the Anti-Chaining ordinance will be taken on June 6 at 6pm. Please be there to show your support!!
I am
extremely proud of my district's representative, Commissioner Cindi
Hutchinson. She is worked hard to convince her other
Commissioners to support a resolution in support of this legislation.

Broward County has not been receptive to the idea of introducing this
legislation. The Humane Society can't do it alone. These
suffering dogs need our help. Please write to your Broward County
Commissioners to outlaw this cruelty county-wide. Click on the
link below to find your district and representative.
